Heart-shaped Valentine Card

Here's another valentine card from 2014.  I made one of these for each of my two oldest granddaughters.

I used the heart-shaped card from the Cricut cartridge "Wild Card".  I didn't even pretend to get fancy; I made them exactly as they were designed.  But I did go the extra 1/4 mile by making envelopes using some floral scrapbook paper and my Martha Stewart scoring board.

If I don't fast-forward back to 2015 and get busy soon, this year's cards might just be construction paper with "Happy Valentine's Day" scribbled in crayon.

Thanks for visiting!

Girl's Valentine Card

As I shared yesterday, I am not really ahead of schedule with completed valentines this early in February. This is actually the card I made my youngest granddaughter last year.

I found this adorable Koala on the Cricut cartridge "Create a Critter 2".  I stamped and heat embossed the word "love" onto the heart, then cut the phrase "Happy Valentine's Day" from the same cartridge (to which I added "1st" since it was indeed her first Valentine's Day) and glued the sentiment inside.

Thanks for looking!

Boy's Valentine Card

No, I haven't actually made valentines for my grandchildren this year.  This is the one I made for my grandson last year.  But I'm actually posting it nearly two weeks before Valentine's Day...doesn't that count for something?

The bear is from the Cricut cartridge "Create a Critter 2".  I stamped and heat-embossed the word "love" onto the heart, hoping it would resemble a candy conversation heart (it doesn't).  I finished by cutting the sentiment "Happy Valentine's Day" from the same cartridge and gluing it inside.

Not especially fancy or creative, but thank goodness small children aren't yet judgmental.

Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine's Day Card for my Husband

Since it's actually February 14th already, I'm starting to doubt I'll get a Valentine's Day card made for my husband before the day is over.  I haven't had a spare moment all week.  Chatty Cathy came down with the flu on Saturday, and about the time she started feeling well enough to go back to school the snow started piling up outside.  It's been a crazy week with kids and hubby underfoot, and cardmaking just wasn't a priority.

This is the card I made my husband last year.  The background paper is from the Recollections stack Love Letters.  The die cuts are from the Slice design card Je t'adore.

Thanks for looking!

Valentine Card for my granddaughters

I made two of these cards last Valentine's Day for my granddaughters.  (FYI:  It's always a good idea to make identical items for competitive children.  They'll still complain that something about theirs isn't quite as good as the other.  You can't win.)

The ladybug is from the Cricut cartridge Simply Charmed.  The inside sentiment is from the Cricut cartridge Holiday Cakes. (I've bought several of the Cake cartridges primarily for the wealth of sentiments they contain.)  For the life of me I can't remember where I got the small hearts on the inside, but they were probably left over from another project.  Waste not, want not.  Just be prepared for the clutter.
